ABSTRACT
This study was carried out on the analysis of the press freedom information bill in Nigeria using journalist in Africa Independent Television (AIT). Specifically, the study examine assess the potential impact of the press freedom information bill on freedom of expression in Nigeria, evaluate the effectiveness of existing legislative frameworks in safeguarding press freedom in Nigeria and identify potential loopholes in the press freedom information bill that may undermine its intended objectives. A total of 30 responses were validated from the survey. From the responses obtained and analyzed, the findings revealed that the press freedom information bill have an impact on freedom of expression in Nigeria. The study hereby recommend that there is need for legal constrain on the government and it agencies to prevent their arbitrary interference, harassment and closure of media houses. Again, Journalist accused of violating any criminal laws should be treated in accordance with the due process of the law which requires prompt and fair trial before competent court..
